Designed By: DAMIEN GERNAY, 2013.

Designed by Damien Gernay for Mogg, Beam is a multi function piece of furniture made by an old oak beam, equipped with lead-painted metal top.

Beam has a young and dynamic design, all products of the beam collection were born from an indomitable creativity. The rustic appearance of wood, deliberately not treated, allows to exploit its full expressive value. The Beam uses are multiple due to its versatile nature that lends itself both in a bedroom or in a contemporary living area. The Irregularities of this ancient wood have to be considered of quality and not a defect, which thus characterizes each individual piece.

MOGG was born from the will of its creator, the architect Nicola Galbiati. With many years of experience in the world of furniture and design, the architect starts from where he stopped. Artistic director but also skilled in framing everything in a pragmatic business vision, always with the commitment and the subtle pleasure of looking ahead. Curious by nature, he is fascinated by understanding, anticipating. Research is the real engine of his work, then the skill and knowledge in the field complete his skills. MOGG srl and 'a new furniture company complements, which opens its doors at the Milan Furniture Fair 2012. MOGG has a soul and a very precise, fresh, curious identity that wants to amaze and wonder, looking for capable interlocutors with their visions (even crazy and dreamers), with their enthusiasm, work and intuition to appreciate the new and modern concept of living.

DAMIEN GERNAY - His approach to the object is determined by a sensitive vision of today's world. It attempts to translate a world of perception into three dimensions: touch becomes volume, the visual becomes color, and frequency becomes form. Material has its own vocabulary, it tries to compose with it, to create its language, based on the application, overlapping and comparing different materials. Therefore the object gets a meaning. It evokes, insinuates, questions. Single or multiple, its meaning becomes consistent.
