This prestigious London office block located in the heart of the city has attracted many top City companies over the years and the owners were determined to ensure the entrance maintained and reflected the standard their clients demanded.
The reception area is the first stop for any visitors and would form an immediate impression so the building’s owners were keen to incorporate a design that would reflect the image they were striving to create.
Glassdomain were chosen to provide the key elements within this area, namely the reception desk and back lit wall.
The desk was designed to house storage for the receptionist and also hide and manage all the wiring for the computer and security control systems.
The project started with sketched ideas and consultations which established the size parameters and colours that were to be used.
To match in with the surroundings a black and white pallet was used. The reception counter base was manufactured from timber and clad internally with a hard wearing white veneer. Full cable management was integrated at the back of the desk and the storage area was completed with secure drawers.
The front modesty panel was fabricated from black glass with a profiled white Corian surround. The front panel was finished with integrated LED down lighting.
The area to the rear of the desk was manufactured in white glass with the number 18 graphic on one panel. The whole of this area incorporated LED halo lighting. The edge was constructed from Corian to match the detailing on the front of the desk.
The overall effect was stunning with crisp clear lines creating a bold and confident impression with all visitors.
