As part of the design protocol we established that the design should have a silver coloured or chromed base which needed to incorporate castors, the glass top should be clear glass oval shaped and secured to the metal base.
Armed with this remit our designer Peter Wardkeworth came up with the perfect answer – the legs were to be formed from hollow cast material and be fitted with a contemporary styled castor. The legs would be attached to a horizontal section that stabilised the table and had in built receptors for the bonded glass bosses.
A prototype was requisitioned and positioned within Marriot’s full prototype room in London. In this particular instance the design was then sourced elsewhere to ensure the cost criteria was met.
