How to clean a glass dining table – streak free?

The glass tables are a versatile furniture piece and practical addition to any dining room. However, the drawback of having a glass dining table is that it attracts fingerprint smudges and marks so, frequent cleaning is required. Here is a quick guide using a home remedy solution to clean the glass table for the best result.

Here are the things needed for cleaning.

• Newspapers
• Soft-Lint Free Cloths – Microfiber
• Plastic card or scraper
• Water – preferably distilled
• White Vinegar
• Rubbing Alcohol
• Spray Bottle

Methods For Cleaning Glass Table

1. Preparation: Prepare the dining table for cleaning by clearing any items on the table.

2. Protect any wood or metal frames: Pay attention that has wood or metal frames as it can cause damage. Protect them by covering them with using masking tape and paper.

3. Wipe away dust & dirt: Lightly wipe the surface down to remove dirt & dust before using the liquid solution.

4. Scarpe off with Plastic Tool:  If you have any stubborn substance stock on the table. Gently scrape it off using a plastic tool such as a scraper or card. If scraping doesn’t work, use hot water and cloth to try dislodging.

5. Liquid Solution: For a homemade remedy cleaning solution for glass table cleaning – mix 50:50 ratio of water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Add extra vinegar to produce a stronger solution.

6. Cleaning: Spray cleaning liquid onto the surface of the table. Wipe down the table with a piece of newspaper or microfiber cloth. The newspaper works well for cleaning glass as it does not leave streaks and also buffs the glass. Avoid using a paper towel, it is likely to leave a lot of lint on the table surface. Use lint-free microfiber for clean results.

Cloudy glass occurs with constant contact with the hard water or high mineral content. If the glass dining table has obtained a cloudy or fogged up appearance. Use an alcohol-based solution to deep clean. Mix a solution of – 50% alcohol, 40% water, and 10% Vinegar and follow the step above to clean the glass table. The mixture should restore the shine and get rid of the cloudiness.
