Designed by GamFratesi
The Yuh collection was designed by the Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi for Louis Poulsen in 2017. At first they launched it in black and white, and later the family extended with editions featuring brass and marble. One of the essential features of the lamp is to be personal.
The light is flexible and taking up little space, can rotate, rise and lower, illuminating and creating ambience in the desired area. The form of the shade is determined geometrically from the movement that the it performs on the stem. A minimalistic appearance created from a circular shape at the bottom to a linear opening at the top of the shade.
The name Yuh is the phonetic form of ‘you’, the letters representing the sound made by the voice to say “you”.
The fixture primarily provides glare-free downward directed light. The angle of the shade can be adjusted to optimize light distribution. A slim opening in the top of the shade provides soft, ambient upward illumination. A mechanical system provides great freedom of movement, so the light can always be set in the ideal position in the work space, living room etc.
Build-in LED technology provides a high quality of light with step less dimming at 15 to 100%. Timer function to automatically turn off the light after amount of time, selectable between off/4 hours/8 hours. Function to set a fixed light level each time the lamp is connected to main power. In the upper part of the tube a button acts as switch and dimmer.

LOUIS POULSEN - In 1924, Poul Henningsen created his influential Paris lamp for Louis Poulsen, and the origin of how we still design to shape light can directly be traced back to his views on the dualities of design and light. Founded in 1874, Louis Poulsen is a Danish lighting manufacturer born out of the Scandinavian design tradition where form follows function. The function and design of our products are tailored to reflect and support the rhythm of natural light. Every detail in the design has a purpose. Every design starts and ends with light. We believe in passionate craftsmanship that produces quality lighting and design products that are pleasing to the eye and to the light. In close partnership with designers, architects and other talents like Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Øivind Slaatto, Alfred Homann, Oki Sato and Louise Campbell, we have established ourselves as one of the key global suppliers of architectural and decorative lighting. Defying traditional product categories, our products serve and span the professional and private lighting markets for both indoor and outdoor applications. Our means are simple and beautiful design. Our purpose is to create an attractive ambience that affects people and spaces. We design to shape light.
GamFratesi - design take their creative drive from a fusion of tradition and innovation in an experimental approach to their chosen materials and techniques. Each with their own traditional background, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw on classic Danish furniture and craftsmanship as well as a classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. Understanding a tradition and addressing it actively in the workshop makes it possible to expand on it. From this cross-cultural substrate they create design that respectfully reflects tradition while also featuring unique embedded stories, symbols and associations, often expressed through minimalism. GamFratesi was founded in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. They met at the Department of Architecture at the University of Ferrara in Northern Italy in 2004 and have since studied together at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark. GamFratesi have a studio in Copenhagen.
