About Quasar
Quasar
Giessen / Netherlands
Quasar is a Dutch, family-owned decorative lighting brand founded in 1992 and first shown internationally at Euroluce in Milan. Based in the Netherlands (Giessen), they design and manufacture in-house and emphasize “made in Holland” craftsmanship. Their collections span pendants, chandeliers, ceiling, wall, floor, and table lamps ranging from single fixtures to large installations with extensive options for size, finish, and color to suit both residential and contract projects.
Quasar has been an early adopter of LED, focusing on energy efficient, durable, and often dimmable solutions using high quality metals and glass. The brand’s design language blends avant-garde statements with timeless forms, developed in close collaboration with noted designers such as Jan Pauwels and Edward van Vliet. Positioned firmly in the premium segment and active at major international fairs, Quasar is known for sculptural, customizable pieces that double as lighting and art.
